The Ultimate Bulk File Renamer for Professionals
We've all been there: you have a folder full of 500 photos named DSC_001.jpg, DSC_002.jpg, and so on. You want to rename them for a project, or standardize a list of client documents. Doing this manually is a recipe for frustration and typos. The BulkWizards bulk file renamer is a desktop-grade utility that lives directly in your browser, allowing you to rename files in bulk instantly.
Rename Multiple Files at Once Locally
Most online tools force you to upload your files to their servers. This is slow, eats your data, and poses a massive privacy risk. Our tool uses the File System Access API. This means the renaming happens directly on your hard drive. Your files never leave your computer, allowing you to securely batch rename files Windows or Mac.
Crafting Your Renaming Rules
Look at the Renaming Rules sidebar. You have powerful weapons at your disposal to rename files in bulk. Use 'Find & Replace' to swap specific names. Use 'Prefixes' to add a string to the beginning of every file (e.g., adding 2024_Project_). Use 'Suffixes' to append version numbers, or instantly transform all text to UPPERCASE or lowercase.
The Golden Rule: Check the Preview
Before you hit the rename button, look at the New Name column in your file table. It updates in real-time. If you see a mistake, simply change your rule in the sidebar. The preview acts as your safety net, ensuring you never accidentally mess up your file structure when you rename multiple files at once.
